Two Thai boxers enter the space and start rubbing themselves with oil – the scent of roses fills the room.

They step onto sports mats, which are surrounded by three lights and speakers.

The performance consists of three rounds of three minutes each.

In each round, the fighters go through different clinch techniques, three climactic choreographies. Light and music are interlocked, rhythmic, the performers appear as if in slow motion, then again as if sped up.

Their movements and impacts are physical, forceful, but also delicate and soft.

Two bodies. In a clinch.

What happens when I accompany this physical, at times violent act with music?

It frames it, makes it dance. On an equal footing. Two similar bodies can‘t get a hold of each other. Searching for each other, slipping away. Working together against each other.

„When I am with you I am fearless.

I feel your body with mine.

I overcome your body with mine.“
