2024, ESPACE LOUIS VUITTON
Before the performance starts, I‘ll install a wind tunnel in the space.
Then, I enter with a wig.
Long, blonde – shiny and silky.
I activate the 5 fans one by one and face the storm.
I take an oversized brush out of my bag and try to gain control of my flying hair.
The blonde strands fill the room.
At some point I have reached my goal (or give up) and devote myself to my make-up – still standing in the wind.
Foundation is applied and lips are touched up with shaking hands.
Eyelashes are tearfully mascaraed.
With my make-up done, I leave the room, with the wind still blowing.
Matching mainstream beauty standards is a lot of work. And impossible for may. Nevertheless, we try, against all odds – visible and invisible.
